Inversion: Third-Person Shooter Game
Inversion is a third-person shooter set in the near future, in the fictional Vanguard City. Players control Officer Davis Russel, who must face an invasion by an unknown enemy called the Lutadore, while his daughter, Leila, is kidnapped. The game starts at the end of the story, where Russel is captured and about to be executed, and the preceding events are revealed through flashbacks, presented as separate episodes leading up to the final moment.
Action and Gameplay
Much of the gameplay follows the classic third-person shooter style, with cover-based movement mechanics and a variety of weapons. Players are assisted by AI-controlled allies, who provide support but cannot be directly commanded. The main feature of Inversion is the manipulation of gravity. The Lutadore dominate this technology, and early in the game, Russel also gains access to it.
Gravlink: Gravity Manipulation
The Gravlink device, which Russel wears as a backpack, allows him to manipulate gravity to his advantage. He can lift obstacles, objects, and enemies, as well as throw items at enemies. The technology also allows him to remove enemies from their cover positions. As the game progresses, the Gravlink becomes more powerful, enabling Russel to pin enemies to the ground or lift objects to create improvised cover. However, object manipulation is limited, and only certain items can be interacted with, meaning players cannot alter the entire game environment.
