Crime Boss is a game that places players at the heart of thrilling heists carried out by teams of four criminals. In this game, you control a criminal, working with AI teammates or other players to pull off high-stakes robberies at locations like banks, jewelry stores, and armored trucks. The gameplay, focused on strategy and quick decision-making, has been compared to the popular Payday series.
Each mission requires players to collect as much loot as possible before the police arrive. Missions can be completed as quick challenges or through six immersive mini-campaigns called “Urban Legends”, where three missions are linked by a loose narrative. For those seeking a deeper experience, the single-player campaign introduces roguelike elements, allowing players to expand their territory in Rockay City after the fall of the former crime boss.
Players manage gang members, engage in turf wars, purchase weapons, and complete missions to take control of new areas. However, caution is essential—if your character dies during a mission, the dream of becoming the Crime Boss is over. Similarly, hired members who die or are arrested will be lost permanently. With an atmosphere inspired by classic ’90s crime films like Miami Vice and Heat, the game captures the action and tension of these iconic productions.
