The Sony PlayStation, or PS, is a fifth-generation gaming console (1993–2005) developed by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It was released in Japan on December 3, 1994, priced at ¥37,000, and later in North America, Europe, Australia, and Korea. It popularized disc-based games and featured analog sticks and vibration feedback. It was discontinued on March 23, 2006.
